The Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and specifications of welded products in a fabrication environment. The inspector utilizes magnification and stress equipment to verify that products meet the necessary standards. Primary responsibilities include the visual inspection of poles and heavy structural steel assemblies, ensuring compliance with AWS and AISC specifications, and verifying the correct setup and operation of weld machines.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct visual welding inspections of poles and heavy structural steel assemblies.
• Ensure compliance with detail drawings and AWS/AISC specifications.
• Verify the correct setup and operation of weld machines.
• Assess welding techniques to guarantee the quality of work.

Essential Skills:

• 3 5 years of experience in welding heavy steel assemblies, with inspection experience preferred.
• In-depth ability to read and understand shop drawings and weld symbols.
• Basic knowledge of AWS and AISC national codes.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or other continuous improvement techniques.
• Knowledge of inspection tools such as micrometre, calipers, and micrometer.
• Understanding of UT and NDT inspection methods.
• Maintain a positive attitude conducive to progress and teamwork.

Work Environment:

This role operates within a heavy industrial manufacturing facility, including a manufacturing floor/shop and general office environment. Occasional travel by automobile may be required, and the work is subject to seasonal weather conditions and exposure to shop hazards. The position does not offer relocation benefits. Job Type & Location:

This is a Permanent position based out of Haltom City, Texas.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $65520.00 - $69680.00/yr. Company does not lay off employees. Stable work environment.
