The Role

The Utility Cleaner, under the direct supervision of the Housekeeping Manager and Leads, performs routine housekeeping work to clean and care for the facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean windows (inside and outside) and perform exterior facility cleaning.
• Perform janitorial cleaning of all interior non-public areas and service hallways.
• Dispose of all waste, including bulk trash removal from the building.
• Carry out routine cleaning and janitorial tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, shampooing carpets, removing stains, washing windows, stripping, waxing, and trash removal.
• Assist with event set-up, tear-down, and clean-up.
• Work independently on routine housekeeping tasks, following established guidelines.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms and restock supplies as needed.
• Observe and report facility repairs and maintenance needs.
• Maintain safe, secure, and sanitary working conditions.
• Clean and maintain housekeeping equipment and other areas as directed.
• Follow all ASM Global policies and procedures.
• All other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous cleaning or janitorial experience preferred but not required.

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to operate small and medium-sized powered cleaning equipment (vacuums, blowers, window washing tools, etc.).
• Ability to read, understand, and follow simple written and verbal instructions.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Maintain a professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance at all times.
• Dependable and punctual, reporting to work as scheduled in proper attire (including badge).
• Ability to work flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Working Conditions

Location: On Site, Broward Convention Center

Physical Demands

• Ability to work indoors and outdoors as required.
• Must be able to walk and/or stand for extended periods (814 hours per day).
• Ability to kneel, climb, balance, and frequently lift over thirty pounds.
• Exposure to moderate to high noise levels during events.
