Radiology / Cardiology/ Echo Tech/Cardiac Sonographer Peds
Additional Information: The Peds sonographer, should be proficient in all pediatrics this includes babies younger than 1 year old. We have labor and delivery and Infant Special Care Units, which require our sonographers to do neonatal echocardiograms.
*looking for experienced sonographers with 3+ years of experience who can perform proficient, quality echocardiograms both Inpatient and Outpatient (structural echocardiograms is a plus). *
*All Adult and Peds Sonographers must learn our protocols and
be signed off on their competencies within 1-2 days*
Shift: 8 hour shifts, start time is based on location but can vary between 7:00am – 4:30pm.
For example: 7:00am-3:30pm, 7:30am-4:00pm, or 8am-4:30pm
Weekend Req: Rotating weekends every 4th -6th weekend. May have a Saturday or Sunday in between
On Call Req: Yes, both Evanston and Highland Park. Twice during a contract, 6-7 days (includes weekends). From 4 pm-7am, and weekends. May have an extra on call Saturday or Sunday in between if there is a need. On call may be split due to ODRISA Law in Illinois, can’t work more than 6 consecutive days in a row.
Floating Req: Floating will be based on the business need, patient census, staffing and unforeseen absences sick
time. Our goal is to keep all sonographers within the same 1-3 locations through the contract to
minimize travel. However, travel may be required and you may cover numerous locations within the
same County area.
Peds Sonographer for Cook County locations and Highland Park Hospital (due to peds coverage).
a. Home base at Evanston Hospital with cross coverage at Skokie, Swedish, and Glenbrook Hospital (All locations are within 30 minutes of each other (maybe 40 mins in extreme traffic)
Your position may be out of 1-2 locations but that doesn’t mean that this is the only location that you
will be working at. Floating to any of our locations will be required. Due to the potential travel, will
need transportation (car).
PEDIATRICS
Peds locations: Evanston Hospital and Highland Park Hospital. This is mainly where we have the PEDs
patients, but all of our locations are adult based. Peds Sonographers also need to know to do adults.
Competency – All peds sonographers must get evaluated/signed off by our Pediatric Cardiologist.
Location: Peds sonographer may work at a different location for example Bannockburn but be on call
for Peds, once onboarded and signed off, would cover On Call at Evanston and Highland Park.

Parking Cost: Staff who work the day and evening shifts can shuttle from Ryan Field, the service is available Monday through Friday. No shuttle on weekends or holidays, will be allowed to park in parking structure on the south side of the lot. Please remember staff must complete an application; present to parking office and receive a sticker that needs to be displayed on rear window. For night parking, go to the parking office to arrange payment at the employee rate before shift. Auto payment may also be set up. Fees apply to days and mids, $15 bi-weekly. No cost for nights
