Summary

The primary objective of this position is to ensure the Bristol Myers Squibb US compliance with state regulations by preparing, submitting, and managing applications for various state licenses and permits.

Must have the ability to stay up to date on regulatory changes, coordinate with state boards, keep and maintain organized records, and collaborate with internal departments such as legal, corporate governance and operations to support business expansion and ensure operational readiness.

In this role, you will work collaboratively across functions and provide leadership and direction to multi-disciplinary teams including but not limited to: third parties vendors engaged by BMS, MAx, Legal, Finance, Global Manufacturing and Supply Chain, Procurement, Government Affairs, Corporate Governance and Quality. The key cross functional knowledge and customer systems is key for ensuring efficient product access for patients to meet BMS' organization objectives. This role is key to facilitating cross-account and cross functional best practice and customer intel sharing.

The successful candidate will be a quick learner and have sophisticated interpersonal skills that allow him/her to mobilize diverse, cross-functional teams to accomplish priorities and execute projects/programs effectively as well as recognize opportunities for innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Application Management: Oversee and manage the complete lifecycle of applications, including new licenses, renewals, and changes of ownership and personnel, across all required states.
  • Regulatory Monitoring: Regularly monitor and research changes in state and federal statutes, regulations, and licensing requirements to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Documentation & Record Keeping: Maintain organized, accurate, and compliant electronic and physical records of all licenses, applications, and associated documents.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the primary point of contact with state boards, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders, including legal, corporate governance, and the operations teams.
  • Process Improvement: Provide recommendations for process adjustments and best practices to improve efficiency and maintain regulatory adherence. Harness AI and technology to streamline workflows and enhance value
  • Trade Strategic Account Support: Lead communications and support business initiatives (e.g., mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, portfolio expansions), ensuring seamless, compliant licensing outcomes
  • Cross-Functional Trade Coordination: Work closely with Trade, Operations, Supply Chain, and Customer Service teams to address licensing needs, resolve issues, and optimize trade and wholesale operations. Ensure preparedness of licensing for product launches, distribution expansion, and new channel development
  • Customer & Channel Relationship Support: Provide licensing expertise for onboarding new customers, accounts, and distribution partners to support business objectives and seamless product access.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA or equivalent required
  • Minimum 2-4 years state licensing experience
  • A strong understanding of US drug supply chain and pharmacy regulatory affairs
  • A strong interpersonal, project management, and communication skills with the ability to effectively and efficiently drive performance.
  • Personal integrity and passionate, energetic focus on the company and mission.
  • Proven ability to listen /consider alternative ideas and viewpoints and respectfully challenge and encourage debate when appropriate to drive decision-making.
  • Demonstrated capacity for strategic thinking and continuous learning

Compensation Overview

New Brunswick - NJ - US: $63,310 - $76,714 Princeton - NJ - US: $63,310 - $76,714 The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee's work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience. Eligibility for specific benefits listed on our careers site may vary based on the job and location. On-site Protocol BMS has an occupancy structure that determines where an employee is required to conduct their work. This structure includes site-essential, site-by-design, field-based and remote-by-design jobs. Site-by-design roles may be eligible for a hybrid work model with at least 50% onsite at your assigned facility.
