Unit Clerk (Float) | Western Psychiatric Hospital

The Unit Clerk Float is a unique position for a Unit Clerk who will provide coverage across all units to support during vacations, time off, and other absences. We are seeking a self-motivated individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys diverse responsibilities.

This is a Union position with a set pay rate of $16.50.

Responsibilities:

Patient Coordination

  Request and log patient appointments, evaluations, consultations, and escorts (verified by RN).

  Obtain various patient reports from the computer (e.g., dietary list, laboratory orders).

Communication

n
• n

  Answer the telephone and deliver messages.

  n
n
• n

  Sort unopened mail and place in designated boxes.

  n
n

Supplies and Equipment

n
• Maintain unit supplies and equipment.
n

Data Management

n
• n

  Maintain database for admission and discharge information.

  n
n
• n

  Manage patients' written medical records/charts as per policy and procedure.

  n
n

Clerical Support

n
• n

  Provide clerical coverage to other nursing units as directed by the Manager of Clinical Support Services.

• n

  Complete photocopying and faxing as requested.

  n
n
• n

  High school diploma or equivalent.

  n
n
• n

  Computer experience preferred.

  n

• n

  The incumbent must be physically capable of running toward or away from areas where problems are occurring and pushing, pulling, lifting equipment such as wheelchairs, carts, boxes, etc.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC)

  Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
