As a Unarmed Security Guard - Tech Site in Christiansburg, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom and more .

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to maintain a secure environment at a leading technology, media, and telecommunications location. Your responsibilities will include conducting routine patrols throughout the premises, staying visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and providing outstanding customer service to all visitors and employees. You will also be responsible for monitoring access points and assisting with badge control to help support a positive and welcoming atmosphere. Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites

• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients at a technology, media, or telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, supporting a secure environment for staff and visitors.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the premises and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security-related concerns.
• Document and report security-related incidents, hazards, or unusual occurrences according to Allied Universal policies and client requirements.
• Communicate professionally with clients, visitors, and staff to address security-related inquiries or concerns.
• Follow post orders and instructions provided by Allied Universal management and client representatives while adapting to the unique needs of the technology, media, or telecommunications location.

• Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available

Minimum Requirements:

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A valid Guard Card or license is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
