Job Summary:
Performs diagnostic procedures on patients using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and body structure, providing quality images to physicians for interpretation. Performs all aspects of ultrasound procedures pertaining to obstetrics and gynecology.  This MFM, perinatal sonographer, positon requires knowledge of both obstetrics and gynecology exams. This position is 100% clinical.

Responsibilities

• Performs ultrasound diagnostic procedures by positioning patients, selecting appropriate transducers and correct scanning sequences to produce an accurate image in order to assist the physician in diagnosis and treatment. Provides and ensures optimal technical quality and accuracy of all Ultrasound examinations according to the American College of Radiology (ACR) standards & FDA quality control requirements. Assembles sterile trays and assumes scrub duties as necessary.  
• Accurately inputs data into electronic medical record, RIS and PACS to capture necessary information regarding exams, supply charges, resource allocations, as well as all relevant clinical information. Transfers correctly annotated images into PACS.  

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
• RDMS OB/GYN certification with ARDMS credentials
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• 6 months experience in Ultrasound hospital setting preferred.
