Your Responsibilities:

• Accurately identify anatomical orientation and ensure proper file identification of all images.
• Exhibit a high level of competency while performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures and managing all associated equipment.
• Welcoming patients and obtaining necessary medical histories to assist with their care.
• Perform ultrasound scans in accordance with established guidelines.
• Maintain detailed logs and process required paperwork for biopsies.
• Uphold sterile techniques to ensure patient safety.
• Adhere to quality standards in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Manage the clinical aspects of the ultrasonography suite, maintaining cleanliness and stocking medical supplies as needed.
• Assist in the accreditation process for the American College of Radiology.
• Keep current with CPR certification and monitor patient vital signs during exams.
• Provide support during irregular schedules or unexpected absences.
• Offer guidance and mentorship to new team members.
• Ensure a positive patient experience; communicate effectively about procedures, follow-ups, and expectations.
• Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
• Deliver high-quality diagnostic images without the need for additional acquisitions.
• Support outpatient operations efficiently to maximize productivity.
• Check technical accuracy of each examination and communicate vital information to the responsible healthcare provider.
• Foster teamwork by engaging positively with colleagues and contributing to a supportive work environment.
• Meet deadlines consistently and demonstrate readiness to adapt to changing circumstances.
• Enhance professional development through continuing education and certification maintenance.
• Review patient charts and requisitions to ensure appropriate study set-ups and verify medical conditions that may affect the examination.
• Educate patients about procedures, equipment, and safety measures to improve understanding.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited ultrasonography course.
• ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

• An associate or bachelor's degree in radiography or sonography.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist.
• Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions effectively.
• Strong communication skills with patients, visitors, and coworkers.
• Proficiency in using or ability to learn the department's computerized systems.

Physical Requirements:

• Extended periods of standing and walking are necessary.
• Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Assist patients weighing up to 300 pounds into appropriate positions for procedures.
• Vision correction capabilities to 20/20 for operating equipment.

This role offers hourly pay ranging from $28.27 to $50.48, influenced by local labor markets, education, experience, and certifications.
