Job Title: X-Ray Technologist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated X-Ray Technologist to join our medical team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring quality patient care, and maintaining equipment safety. This position requires availability for days, evenings, on-call shifts, callbacks, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Verify patients' identity and review physician orders before beginning x-ray procedures.
• Utilize x-ray equipment to capture high-quality radiographic images as per physician directives.
• Explain x-ray procedures to patients, addressing their questions and concerns.
• Position patients appropriately for imaging, including assisting individuals with limited mobility.
• Safely handle all radiologic equipment, ensuring minimal radiation exposure to patients.
• Monitor each patient's status and interpret necessary information to cater to age-specific needs.
• Produce diagnostic images for interpretation by Radiologists.
• Notify management promptly of any damaged or malfunctioning x-ray equipment.
• Utilize electronic patient information systems to verify patient details and ensure correct image documentation.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure images are sent to the PACS system correctly.

Requirements

• Completion of formal training in an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
• Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and a valid NYS license (or ability to obtain prior to starting).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an X-Ray Technologist.
• Experience in a Level 1 trauma center is preferred.
• Ability to assist in moving or lifting patients.
• Capability to stand for extended periods.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Compassionate disposition with a patient-centered approach.
• Team player able to maintain a cohesive working environment.
• Must be able to report within 30 minutes for on-call shifts.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association ONLY) required.
• Experience using c-arm/o-arm within the past 8 months is required.

Behavioral Characteristics

The ideal candidate demonstrates the following skills:

• Technician License: Currently, any Tech License is accepted in the state of NY.
• Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience.
• BLS Certification: Valid certification from the American Heart Association.
• C-arm/O-arm Experience: Prior experience within the last 8 months.
