Radiology Technologist - Float Position

About Optum: We are a premier health care provider, serving millions of patients with comprehensive care including primary care, urgent care, and specialty services. Our facilities prioritize patient accessibility, flexibility in scheduling, and community engagement through various health initiatives.

Schedule: Monday to Friday with flexible scheduling as you float between various Imaging and Specialty Practices in Nassau and parts of Suffolk County.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging.
• Clearly explain procedures to patients, ensuring their comfort and understanding.
• Set up and adjust imaging equipment to capture high-quality images.
• Implement radiation protection measures to ensure safety for patients and staff.
• Perform specialized and routine radiology procedures.
• Process images, ensuring they meet quality standards for interpretation.
• Maintain radiologic equipment and coordinate repairs when necessary.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• License or temporary permit to practice Diagnostic Radiology in New York.
• ARRT certification or willingness to obtain within 180 days.

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
• Familiarity with Epic EMR software.
• Experience in Orthopedics is a plus.
