Job Description

The Radiologic Technologist I is responsible for obtaining diagnostic radiographic examinations at a technical level that requires minimal supervision. The role encompasses various essential functions aimed at providing high-quality imaging services.

Responsibilities

• Produces diagnostic radiographic examinations by accurately positioning patients and selecting proper technical factors based on individual patient needs.
• Restricts radiation beam to protect unaffected parts of the patient using appropriate collimating devices.
• Performs portable x-ray examinations in various settings, including patient rooms, operating rooms, and emergency rooms.
• Identifies patients' films correctly and ensures accurate film marking.
• Maintains an orderly x-ray room and prepares necessary radiopaque contrast media.
• Assists physicians in administering radiopaque mixtures to patients.
• Handles administrative duties such as scheduling appointments and maintaining patient records.
• Provides assistance to all patients based on their individual needs.
• Adheres to departmental standards and takes into account the specific needs of diverse patient populations.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an acute care facility.
• Must possess a valid New Jersey State License.
• Completion of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology and clinical requirements.
• Must be able to work independently and have emergency room, trauma patient, and OR experience.
