Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 1 year in MS/Tele or stepdown units
• Licensure: NY RN license required in hand
• Charting System: Epic preferred / required for first-time travelers
• Certifications: BLS required; Phlebotomy preferred
• Preferred Experience: PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, teaching hospital

Skills & Responsibilities

Critical Care & Pulmonary:

• Care of ventilated patients
• Tracheostomy management
• High flow nasal cannula, CPAP/BIPAP, portable O₂, oxygen masks
• Chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac)
• Manage Amiodarone drips

IV & Medications:

• IV therapy, PICC and central line management
• Starting IVs, blood product administration
• Heparin protocols, PCA, titration of cardiac & insulin drips

Cardiac & Emergency:

• Cardiac monitoring, interpretation & management of dysrhythmias
• Rapid Response team activation

Renal / GI / Metabolic:

• Continuous bladder irrigation (CBI)
• Pre/Post hemodialysis management
• Feeding tube care and management
• IV insulin protocols

Other Professional Skills:

• Isolation precautions, wound care/wound vac
• Substance withdrawal management
• Surgical drain care

Staffing / Ratios:

• Evening: 5:1 (stretch 6/7)
• Night: 6/7:1 (stretch 8/9)
• Float Required: Yes, within scope
• Call Required: Yes, as needed
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
