Job Description

The Float Registered Nurse (RN) will provide high-quality patient care in a Med-Surg/Tele environment. This position requires flexibility as the nurse will float between different units, including MS 4 Pav, MS 5 Pratt, and acute inpatient rehab (ortho/neuro).

Responsibilities

• Deliver quality patient care and assess patient needs including clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual aspects.
• Manage a patient ratio of 1:5-6.
• Administer required drips and medications, including Heparin, magnesium, and potassium riders.
• Implement safe patient handling and movement practices.
• Exhibit strong leadership skills and the ability to prioritize and delegate tasks effectively.
• Assume charge nurse duties as required.
• Maintain excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current New York RN license is mandatory.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Meditech experience is necessary.
• Minimum of one successful traveler assignment is required; first-time travelers will not be considered.
• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
