RN – Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
Location: 22 S Greene St, Baltimore, MD 21201
Shift: Rotating; Days (07:00 – 19:00) and Nights (19:30 – 07:30)

Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse (RN) to provide specialized care for critically ill infants and children. The RN will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to manage complex, high-acuity patients and deliver evidence-based care in a fast-paced pediatric environment.

Requirements:

• Active Maryland RN license (or Compact License)
• Certifications: BLS and PALS required; CPI preferred
• Minimum 2+ years of recent PICU experience (first-time travelers accepted)

Unit Details:

• Patient Ratios: 1:2 routinely; 1:3 for Intermediate Care (IMC) patients
• Patient Population:
  • Congenital cardiac defects and post–Cardiac Cath recovery
  • Cardiology (heart block, pacer-dependent, AICD)
  • DKA and respiratory illnesses (asthma, viral infections)
  • Post-surgical (neuro, ortho, ENT)
  • Medically fragile and complex chronic cases (trach/vent/g-tube)
  • Behavioral health patients
• Special Procedures/Skills: CRRT, mechanical ventilation management, ABG interpretation, vasopressor titration, tracheostomy care
• Unit Mix: Approximately 80% PICU and 20% NICU patients

Schedule & Expectations:

• Shift: Rotating Days/Nights (36 hours per week)
• Every other weekend required
• Holidays: As scheduled
• Floating: Within pediatric specialties, including NICU, Pediatric ED, and Pediatric Progressive Care Unit
• On-Call: Not required
• Contract Length: 13–16 weeks accepted
