Registered Nurse – Obstetrics / Gynecology (Women’s Services)

Duration: 8 weeks
Shift: Night Shift, 3x12-Hour (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Schedule: Rotating weekends required
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
On-Call: No
Unit: Women’s Services (OB)

Position Overview:

Seeking a skilled Obstetrics RN with labor room, postpartum, and nursery experience. This is a Level 1 maternity and nursery unit with a dynamic patient population, including laboring patients, postpartum care, GYN, female ortho, and bariatric patients. Nurses must be confident in fetal monitoring, labor interventions, and newborn care.

Certifications Required:

• Active NY RN License (must be in hand at submission)
• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• NRP
• Fetal Monitoring Certification (preferred but not required)

Experience Required:

• Minimum 1+ year of recent OB experience
• Labor Room and Postpartum care experience required
• Nursery-trained RN
• Comfortable with Level 1 nursery care
• Previous experience with OB-related medications (e.g., Pitocin, magnesium)
• Travel experience preferred

Skills & Competencies:

• Labor and delivery support
• Postpartum and newborn care
• Level 1 nursery support
• Administering OB medications (Pitocin, magnesium, etc.)
• Electronic fetal monitoring (GE/Philips equipment)
• Multidisciplinary team collaboration
• EMR documentation

• Patient Types: Laboring, postpartum, nursery, GYN, female ortho, female bariatrics

• Floating: May provide care to female surgical patients based on census
