Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse – Rochester, NY  

Start Date: November 3, 2025

A high-acuity hospital in Rochester, New York is seeking a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse for a night shift travel assignment. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population and advanced clinical support systems in a collaborative care environment.

Position Overview

• Specialty: MS/Tele
• Shift: 3x12-Hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Start Date: November 3, 2025
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• On-Call: Not required
• Floating: May float within scope to other MS/Tele units
• Local Radius Rule: No locals within 75 miles
• Pending License: Not accepted
• Block Scheduling: Considered but not guaranteed
• RTO: No holiday RTO; maximum 7 days

Certifications

• BLS (required)

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of MS/Tele experience
• First-time travelers accepted (must have Epic experience if first-time in U.S.)
• Strong clinical skills in telemetry and dysrhythmia management
• Effective communication and teamwork in a high-volume setting

Clinical Requirements

• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Use of Rapid Response Teams
• Peripheral line care and management
• Oxygen delivery systems: nasal cannula, face masks, portable tanks
• Non-invasive airway management
• Isolation precautions

Patient Population

• Variety of cancers
• Sickle cell crisis
• Sepsis
• Organ failure

Equipment Experience

• CADD pump
• SCD pump
• Wound vac
• Tube feeding pump

Facility Details

• Charting System: Epic (preferred)
• Scrub Color: Navy and white combinations
• Support Staff: PCTs for vitals, glucose checks, EKGs, ADLs; in-house phlebotomy team for peripheral draws
