Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,870 - $2,000
• Assignment Length: 18 weeks (October 6, 2025 – February 9, 2026)
• Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:30 – 08:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing

• Self-Scheduling: Yes
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
• Holiday Coverage: Required as scheduled; one major holiday off may be requested
• Floating: Required within Labor & Delivery specialty

Labor & Delivery RN Qualifications

• Active Maryland or Compact Registered Nurse License
• Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (2 years preferred)
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• BLS (AHA), NRP (AAP or NRP), and STABLE certifications required
• Experience with Epic charting system preferred
• Charge RN, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Must be comfortable floating within hospital units as needed
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• Must reside at least 50 miles from facility
• References: 2 satisfactory professional references (1 supervisor/manager and 1 charge RN)

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns in a busy Labor & Delivery unit (patient ratio 1:3)
• Assist with vaginal deliveries and Cesarean sections
• Circulate for C-sections and recover post-operative patients
• Administer blood products, magnesium sulfate therapy, insulin drips, and pain management interventions
• Perform sterile vaginal exams, triage obstetrical patients, and monitor fetal heart rates using EFM
• Start and maintain peripheral IVs and central lines (CVC/PICC)
• Implement isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, and social services
• Float to other units within the Labor & Delivery specialty as needed
• Participate in self-scheduling and work every other weekend
