Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Location:Washington, DC 20037

Contract Duration: 13 Weeks 

Shift:12-Hour Night Shifts (3x12s per week)

Job Summary:

The ICU RN provides high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients within a multidisciplinary Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting. The unit manages a wide range of patient populations, including but not limited to: neurological, neuro-surgical, medical, surgical, pulmonary, cardiology, cardiothoracic, and trauma patients.

The ideal candidate is an experienced ICU nurse who can function independently, utilize advanced critical care technologies, and demonstrate sound clinical judgment under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver safe, compassionate, and comprehensive nursing care to ICU patients
• Monitor, assess, and respond to patients’ complex health conditions using advanced equipment
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals
• Operate and manage life-saving equipment including ventilators, IABP, ECMO, Impella, CRRT, cardiac monitors, and infusion pumps
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and hospital policy
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure regulatory compliance
• Educate and support patients’ families regarding treatment plans and care procedures

Required Qualifications:

• Active RN license in the District of Columbia
• Minimum 3 years of recent ICU experience
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications – Required
• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved nursing program
• Experience with Cerner EMR – Required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – Highly Desired
