• Location: New Haven, CT 06510 (Connecticut travel nursing jobs)
• Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care, Level I Trauma Center
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 10/31/2025 – End: 1/30/2026)
• Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 – 07:00)
• Hours per Week: 36 (full-time nursing job)
• Guaranteed Hours: Yes
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Charting System: Epic (Epic EMR experience preferred)
• Patient Ratios: Average 1:6
• Travel Nursing Experience: Required
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1990–$2130

ER Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 18 months of recent emergency room nursing experience (2 years preferred; 1.5 years accepted with Level I Trauma or travel nurse experience)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Connecticut RN license required; pending license accepted)
• Certifications: TNCC (or TNS), ACLS, BLS (required for ER RN jobs)
• Experience in Level I Trauma Center required
• Travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• Local candidates (within 75 miles) not accepted

ER RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in a fast-paced trauma center
• Manage patient assignments with an average ratio of 1:6 in the emergency department
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, and social services
• Utilize Epic EMR for accurate documentation and charting
• Perform advanced emergency room procedures: continuous IV sedation, ICP monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, ventilated patient care, PA line management
• Participate in weekend coverage and float to other campuses as needed (excluding trauma/rescue rooms, triage, and locked behavioral health units)
• Adhere to hospital protocols and maintain compliance with required modules and orientation
