Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring flexible scheduling and recent Epic experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Emergency Department setting caring for a diverse adult and pediatric patient population
• Twelve-hour rotating shifts with coverage required every other weekend and flexibility to meet unit needs
• Assignment is approximately 4 weeks in length
• No block scheduling permitted
• Patient care is provided in a fast-paced, large, academic teaching environment with a high bed count
• Epic EMR is utilized and recent Epic experience (within past 2 years) is required
• Responsibilities include prioritizing and delivering emergency nursing care in a high-acuity department
• Personal vehicle or rental car strongly recommended as there is no accessible public transportation in the area
• Vehicles should have all season or snow tires from November to April
• Rotating weekends and holiday coverage may be required in alignment with unit needs

Requirements

• Active VT or compact RN license required; must be in hand or application started within 24 hours of offer
• AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, AHA PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC required prior to start
• At least 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience required
• Prior travel experience required unless candidate has worked in multiple large (>500 beds), teaching facilities
• Recent large, academic hospital experience required
• Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years is required and nonnegotiable
• Preferred certifications include CEN, ENPC, MOAB, ProAct, or other de-escalation training
