Position Overview:

Albany Medical Center is seeking a highly experienced Travel RN for the Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) for a 13-week night shift assignment. This unit specializes in the care of immediate post-operative cardiac and vascular surgery patients. The nurse must be comfortable working with high-acuity patients requiring advanced hemodynamic monitoring and intensive cardiovascular support.

Certifications & Requirements:

• Active NY RN License (must be current at time of submission)
• BLS (AHA)
• Epic EMR Experience – Required
• Trauma Level One Experience – Required
• Competency Test (sent via email, must be completed within 24 hours of submission)
• Navy Blue Scrubs – Required
• Must reside outside restricted local counties (Local candidates not accepted)

Experience Required:

• Minimum 2–3 years of recent staff CVICU experience
• Strong competency in the following areas:
  • Immediate post-op cardiac and vascular surgery patients
  • Ventilator management
  • Arterial lines (A-lines)
  • Spinal drains
  • Hemodynamic monitoring
  • ECG interpretation
  • Temporary pacemakers
  • Vasoactive and inotropic drip titration

Skills & Competencies:

• High-level critical thinking and clinical assessment
• Emergency response and intervention
• Team collaboration in high-stress environments
• Proficiency with Epic EMR
• Trauma-level care experience
