Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN Float Pool for Med/Surg and Tele assignments, requiring an active CO or compact RN license and AHA certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work within a hospital Med/Surg and Telemetry float pool setting
• Float required to multiple locations within a 60-mile zone as directed
• Patient populations include a variety of Med/Surg and Telemetry cases
• Uses EPIC charting for all documentation
• 12-hour night shifts, three shifts per week
• Responsible for developing and implementing patient plans of care in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team
• May be assigned to units outside of primary specialty in accordance with facility policy and float pool agreements
• Must demonstrate competency in a variety of therapeutic and diagnostic interventions, including wound care, IVs, and medication administration
• Seasonal flu vaccination required from November 1 to March 31 unless a medical exemption is provided; no religious exemptions allowed
• Expected to mentor or precept new staff or students as needed
• No local candidates accepted within a 60-mile radius

Requirements

• Active and current CO or Compact RN license required, no pending licenses accepted
• Minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing is required; BSN preferred
• Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• At least one year of recent relevant Med/Surg or Tele experience preferred
• Must reside farther than 60 miles from the assignment location to qualify as a traveler
• Only AHA certifications are accepted
• Experience with EPIC charting system is required
