In this role, you will provide care for ill, medically fragile, and injured students, ensuring compliance with laws related to student health and parental consent. Your daily responsibilities include administering basic first aid and emergency medical care, conducting health screenings and assessments, managing student health records, and dispensing medications and treatments as prescribed.You will collaborate with district staff, parents, and healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students. Additionally, you will educate students, staff, and parents on health-related topics, monitor and control communicable diseases, and provide counseling and support for students with mental health concerns. You will also coordinate and oversee school immunization programs, ensure compliance with health regulations, and assist in health and safety policy development. Facilitating referrals to outside healthcare providers when necessary and participating in health promotion and disease prevention initiatives are also part of your role. Maintaining inventory of medical supplies and equipment is essential.To qualify, you need a valid state LPN license and current CPR and First Aid certification. Experience working with children or in a school setting is preferred, along with strong communication and interpersonal skills. You should be able to handle high-stress situations and emergencies calmly and be familiar with pediatric health and developmental issues.
