Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Mammography Technologist with 5+ years of mammography and needle localization experience for an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute care radiology department specializing in mammography
• Assignment covers both Bryan and College Station campuses, floating between the two as needed
• Average of 15-18 screening and diagnostic mammography studies per day
• Procedures include screening mammograms, diagnostic mammograms, and needle localization procedures; may include stereotactic biopsies
• Uses Hologic equipment, MEDITECH EMR, MAGVIEW, and SYNAPSE PACS
• Department has 2 mammography rooms at each location
• Monday through Friday, 8-hour day shifts, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (may start as early as 7:00 AM for procedure coverage)
• No weekends, holidays, call, or on-call requirements
• Main responsibilities include performing screening and diagnostic mammograms and needle localization procedures
• No IV starts required
• Will be the first to float between Bryan and College Station campuses, approximately 16 minutes apart
• Scrubs are not provided; black scrubs are required, with optional pink scrubs on Wednesdays
• Candidates may not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit facility, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year
• PRN employment through outside firms will be considered
• Call-outs are strongly discouraged and may lead to termination

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of recent mammography experience, including needle localization procedures
• Current BLS certification required
• Certified Mammography Technologist ARRT (M) and Certified Radiologic Technologist ARRT (R) required
• Active Texas Radiologic Technologist license (TMB) required
• License required if applicable
• Proficiency with Hologic mammography equipment and MEDITECH EMR preferred
• Must provide 2 professional references: one supervisor from the last 12 months, and one peer or supervisor from the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility
• Copy of state license and driver’s license required for consideration
