Job Description

American Traveler seeks an Occupational Therapist with at least 2 years of experience and a valid Alaska license to provide therapy across all ages in a long-term care rehabilitation setting.

Responsibilities

• Work in a rehabilitation therapy setting within a critical access hospital
• Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm shift
• Serve a diverse patient population including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
• Long-term care focus with responsibilities spanning evaluation, treatment, and activities program oversight
• Responsible for evaluation, development, and implementation of individualized occupational therapy treatment and activity programs
• Direct and supervise LTC activities programs and contribute to care planning
• Perform treatment for a full age spectrum from pediatric to geriatric populations
• Collaborate with nursing and restorative care programs
• Conduct discharge planning and recommend home modifications as needed
• Engage in chart audits and maintain timely documentation according to standards
• Work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team environment
• No pets allowed in provided housing
• Housing is provided for this position
• No couples or pairs accepted due to work availability

Requirements

• Valid Alaska state Occupational Therapist license required if applicable
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program with a BS or MA/MS degree
• Minimum 2 years of direct patient care experience, including strong background in long-term geriatric care
• Current BLS certification required
• Rehabilitation certifications such as ASHA, CHT, or ACP Training are required
• Experience with LTC RAI/MDS is an asset
• Basic computing skills including email, word processing, and spreadsheets
