Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a ND or compact license, with three years of L&D, post-partum, and gyn experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute care hospital Labor & Delivery unit with 19 beds
• Patient population includes L&D, postpartum, high-risk OB, gyn surgical post-op, and newborns
• Nurse to patient ratios: 1:1 or 1:2 for L&D, 1:3 for mom/baby couplets, and a combination of 1:5-6 for mom/babies and gyns
• Utilizes fetal monitors, suction, oxygen, vital signs monitors, OBIX for documentation, and EPIC for gyns
• 12-hour night shifts with occasional days, every other weekend and holiday required
• Floating to newborn nursery and NICU as needed
• Provide nursing care throughout labor, delivery, postpartum phases, and for high-risk OB and gyn surgical patients
• Team structure includes support for floating to newborn nursery and NICU
• 36 hours of orientation provided for travelers
• Dress code requires navy blue scrubs for gyn and mom/baby care, or hospital-provided scrubs for L&D
• Holiday coverage is required per the schedule
• Not accepting travelers with permanent addresses within 80 miles of the facility

Requirements

• Active ND or compact RN license
• Minimum of 3 years recent experience in Labor & Delivery, postpartum, and gyn care
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NRP (STABLE preferred but not required)
• Proficient in fetal monitoring and care of high-risk OB patients
