Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring a VA or compact RN license and night shift availability.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a community hospital Labor and Delivery unit
• Care for laboring mothers and newborns
• Night shifts are scheduled as 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00pm to 7:30am
• Candidates may be required to float within their scope as needed
• EPIC charting system is used and experience is required
• Provide comprehensive care to laboring women and newborn infants in a team-based environment
• Orientation includes required learning modules completed during the first week
• No guaranteed holidays off; holiday coverage may be required
• Travelers must not have been employed by the health system within the past year
• Locals are accepted at the same rate and there is no radius requirement
• All time-off requests must be submitted up front and RTO will be approved by the unit manager; no time off will be granted during the traveler's first week
• Return staff policy requires a minimum of one year away before eligibility to return

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license required at the time of consideration
• At least 1 year of recent Labor and Delivery experience required
• Certifications required: ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced or AWHONN Intermediate
• Degree from an accredited school of nursing (Diploma, Associate, or BSN); BSN preferred
• Two professional references are required
• Must have completed modules during orientation
• Must adhere to drug-free and tobacco-free workplace policies
• Must comply with the hospital's natural nail policy
