**Job Title: Labor and Delivery RN - 12H Night Shift**

**Job Description:**
We are seeking an experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) for a 12-hour night shift position. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to expectant mothers during labor and delivery. This is a contract position with assignments that conclude on Saturdays, and it requires a commitment to working every other weekend.

**Key Responsibilities:**
- Monitor and assess patients during labor and delivery, providing immediate and continuous care.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and other interventions as needed.
- Educate patients and their families about the labor and delivery process, including prenatal care and postpartum recovery.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in a timely manner.
- Engage with students and new hires, fostering a supportive team environment.

**Requirements:**
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery.
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification (or equivalent).
- Proven travel experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with Cerner electronic health records is a plus.
- An active Virginia or Compact RN license is required at the time of submission.
- All requests for time off (RTO) must be included at the time of application.

**Work Environment:**
This position is within a teaching hospital, and you will interact frequently with students and new staff members. The ability to contribute to a culture of support and collaboration is essential.

**Contract Details:**
- Guaranteed hours: 91 contract weeks
- This position is limited to candidates living within 60 miles of the facility.

**Notes:**
The facility reserves the right to cancel assignments up to 36 hours prior to the start time due to changes in patient census.
