Job Description

The Interventional Radiology Technologist is responsible for demonstrating competence in selecting exposure factors and positioning to produce radiologic images of diagnostic quality. This role requires effective collaboration with all department members to resolve problems expediently while maintaining a compassionate and respectful demeanor towards patients.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and prepare patients for examinations and assist the Radiologist during procedures.
• Demonstrate competence and proficiency in the operation of all equipment, reporting malfunctions to the manager or lead.
• Complete all assigned procedures in a timely manner, utilizing time between procedures to assist others and facilitate room turnover.
• Maintain medication security and ensure authorized personnel access only.
• Provide healthcare services competently across all age groups, demonstrating strong interpersonal relationships.
• Utilize Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS.
• Participate in hospital performance improvement activities as needed.
• Handle technical inquiries from physicians and hospital personnel with good phone etiquette.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association ONLY).
• Two years of experience in a relevant field.
• New York State license (or able to obtain prior to start).
• VIR certification is preferred.
