About The Position
Job Title: Echocardiographic Technician Profession: Medical Specialty: Cardiac Sonography Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 2x3 days Hours per Shift: Variable, 8 hours, with a 36-hour guarantee Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in echocardiology License: CRT-Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, Registered (RDCS) or CRT-Cardiac Sonographer, Registered (RCS) or CRT-Pediatric Echocardiography (PE) Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Must-Have: Pediatric experience preferred. Associate's degree from an accredited ultrasound program or equivalent is required. Description: Performs a variety of cardiac testing including stress echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms, and transthoracic echocardiograms. Calculates acquired data and prepares study for medical staff interpretation. Performs ultrasound tests appropriate for patient-specific morphology and pathology. Uses critical thinking skills to assess the validity of calculations. Documents exam performance in an electronic medical record and financial system. Attends departmental staff, educational, and informational meetings. Participates in various workgroups, quality assurance meetings, and team-building sessions as required. Informs patients and significant others about procedures and equipment being utilized. Actively demonstrates ongoing continuous education efforts in the field of Cardiac Sonography. Demonstrates professional commitment by membership in local and national Sonography Society. Notices are provided regarding accommodation commitments in accordance with applicable laws. All time submission is required for services provided. Timely submission of accurate documentation is necessary for payment processing.
