Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Radiologic Technologist with at least 2 years of diagnostic imaging experience for a weekend role in Rockford, IL.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital-based diagnostic imaging department
• Position focuses on weekend shifts, Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM
• Assignment is a 13-week contract covering 48 hours every 2 weeks
• Performs diagnostic radiographic, portable, C-arm, and fluoroscopic procedures
• Patient populations may include ER, operating room, and bedside exams
• Uses electronic medical records and radiology information systems including PACS
• Duties include performing and assisting with radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, patient positioning, and patient education
• Responsible for equipment operation, quality control, and radiation safety following ALARA principles
• Assists with preparation and administration of contrast media
• Provides instruction and training to radiography students and new technologists
• Involvement with documentation, image processing, and record keeping
• Expected to assist with patient transport and ensure patient safety throughout procedures
• Must adjust and coordinate patient and staff schedules as needed

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
• Minimum of 2 years experience as a Radiologic Technologist
• Current ARRT Radiography registration required
• IEMA-DNS Radiography accreditation required if working in Illinois; license required if applicable
• Current BLS certification required (or within 90 days of hire)
• Demonstrated proficiency with diagnostic imaging, portable, fluoroscopy, and C-arm procedures
• Expert level knowledge of EMR, PACS, and imaging equipment
