Position Title: Traveler – Certified Surgical Technologist
Schedule: Weekdays (Monday–Friday) on a 5 × 8 schedule
Call Requirements: Weekend on-call on a rotational basis (approximately every 3rd to 4th weekend). Possible additional weekday evening call shifts to cover when team members are off.

Employment Agreement: Employed on either a 36/36 or 36/48 schedule (to be specified in the employment agreement) depending on hospital/traveler agreement.
Cancellation Clause: The hospital reserves the right to cancel or “call off” one shift biweekly without financial penalty, in the event of a decrease in census. Additional shifts picked up above the work-commitment (i.e., overtime shifts) may be flexed (reduced) as needed for decreased resource need or lower census, without penalty.
Key Requirements:

• Must hold a valid AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Must be a Certified Surgical Technologist.
• The traveler’s permanent residence must be at least 100 miles or more from the hospital’s service area.
  Start Date: The traveler may start any Monday after compliance documents are completed by the specified deadline.
  Reporting / Assignment: The role will report to the surgical services / OR management team and will work within the hospital’s surgical suite.

  Responsibilities:
• Provide surgical technologist services (preparation of OR, instrumentation, assisting surgical team during procedures, turnover, de-contamination, etc.).
• Participate in call coverage as specified.
• Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, accreditation and regulatory requirements.
• Attend orientation as required (16 hours non-billable) and complete online CBLs.
• Flexibility to adjust schedule in response to census and resource needs as per the cancellation/shift-flex policy.
