Job Description

The Surgical Technologist for the CVOR unit plays a pivotal role in supporting surgical procedures, ensuring a sterile environment, and assisting the surgical team with various tasks. This role includes the management of equipment and supplies, as well as contributing to patient care and safety during surgical interventions.

Responsibilities

• Set up operating rooms with necessary instruments and supplies.
• Assist in surgical procedures, including scrub and circulatory duties.
• Manage room turn over efficiently while maintaining sterile technique.
• Collaborate with nursing staff and doctors to ensure optimal patient care.
• Maintain proper functioning of equipment, including Belmont and cell saver.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS certification required.
• CNOR certification preferred.
• Experience in sterile technique, central line set up, and arterial line set up.
• Competency with surgical procedures such as open heart surgeries (CABG, MVR, TVR, AVR).
• Ability to work effectively in a team setting and communicate effectively with patients and staff.
