Software Engineer

• Hybrid in Houston, TX (Tues-Thurs)
• 12 month contract to hire
• W2 only, no sponsorship available

DUTIES
• Lead the design and implementation of full-stack features using Angular for the front end and AWS Lambda-based services for the back end
• Architect and optimize data flows between Amazon Neptune, S3, and Lambda-based functions
• Develop and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs to serve data from Neptune
• Ensure UI components built in Angular are performant, responsive, and aligned with business requirements
• Collaborate closely with solution architects, data engineers, and DevOps teams on system design and deployment
• Define and enforce best practices for code quality, performance, and security in a cloud-native environment
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical decisions for the overall stack
• Write Infrastructure-as-Code templates (Terraform or AWS CDK/CloudFormation) for repeatable deployments
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize serverless workflows and database performance
REQUIREMENTS
• 7+ years of professional software development experience
• 3+ years in senior or lead roles
• Strong proficiency in Angular (preferably Angular 12+) for building enterprise-grade web applications
• Proven hands-on experience with AWS Lambda, Amazon S3, Amazon Neptune, and integrating serverless architectures
• Experience designing and consuming APIs (REST and/or GraphQL)
• Solid skills with Node.js or Python for backend Lambda development
• Strong knowledge of AWS IAM, API Gateway, and related AWS security practices
• Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform
• Solid understanding of software design patterns, system architecture, and cloud scalability
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge of graph database query languages (e.g., Gremlin, SPARQL) for Neptune.
• Experience with AWS monitoring and logging (e.g., CloudWatch, X-Ray).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
