Test Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced Test Engineer based in Jacksonville, FL. This role involves leading spacecraft testing efforts, integrating mechanical and electrical systems, and supporting prototype development. The ideal candidate will have experience in aerospace testing and be comfortable with approximately 1015% travel to testing sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage spacecraft testing campaigns with a focus on mechanical systems and electrical integration.
• Develop comprehensive test plans and design ground support equipment (GSE) for risk mitigation and requirements verification.
• Coordinate subsystem and vehicle-level integration testing processes.
• Identify and implement improvements to testing methodologies and workflows.
• Support the development of practical and measurable product requirements.
• Maintain and monitor test equipment and ensure facility readiness for testing activities.
• Mentor and guide a team of test engineers and technicians.
• Analyze test data and prepare detailed reports for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with design teams to incorporate system changes based on test outcomes.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and manage team training needs.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience with environmental testing, including random vibration, static loading, thermal-vacuum testing, acoustic testing, and EMI/EMC testing.
• Proficiency in metrology and data acquisition.
• Familiarity with classical and computational analysis for interpreting and validating FE predictions and testing results.
• Experience in leading efforts to capture new business by providing technical briefings and preparing BOEs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with test plan development and test equipment maintenance.
• Ability to develop assembly and test processes for subsystem and vehicle integration testing.
• Capability to recommend and implement improvements to testing processes and methodologies.

Work Environment

This position is based onsite from Monday to Friday, with approximately 10-15% travel required to testing sites.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, Florida.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $91.35/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
