We are seeking a highly motivated, exceptional senior applied research engineer with experience in bringing the latest research to life in stunning, visually immersive products. You'll advance and apply the latest ML techniques to craft a meaningful experience for millions of users worldwide through both rapid prototyping and experimentation then bring the best of those experiences to users around the world.

Minimum Qualifications

• BSc in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related field
• 10+ years proven experience leading ML/AI initiatives and teams in a fast-paced environment
• Technical expertise in machine learning, particularly in generative AI, traditional ML, and knowledge graphs
• Experience managing rapid prototyping and proof-of-concept development in ML/AI (particularly GenAI)
• Proficiency in modern ML frameworks and tools (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow)
• Experience leading cross-functional technical teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related field
• Strong understanding of ML operations, including model development, evaluation, and deployment
• Outstanding project and program management capabilities
• Track record of building strong partnerships with business collaborators
• Exceptional communication skills with ability to translate complex ML concepts for various audiences
• Results-driven with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Experience with large-scale ML deployments in customer service environments
• Deep understanding of responsible AI practices and model governance frameworks

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $212,000 and $386,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
