Surgical Technician - Minimal Call Hours

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technician who is eager to contribute to our Labor & Delivery team and enhance the quality of care for our patients. In this role, you will be essential in ensuring the efficiency and success of OB procedures, while adhering to our commitment to patient-centered practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Scrub Duties: Efficiently perform technical skills during procedures, consistently demonstrating knowledge of sterile technique and adhering to aseptic principles.
• Patient Care: Under the guidance of a registered nurse, provide selected patient care activities in Labor & Delivery and promptly communicate any significant observations or changes in the patient's condition.
• Accountability: Take full responsibility for your role, ensuring all delegated activities are executed effectively.

Qualifications:

Education: Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited surgical technology program or completion of a structured on-the-job training program at Bridgeport Hospital.

Experience: Relevant experience in surgical technology.

Licensure: Must complete a licensed Certified Surgical Technology Program. All newly hired Surgical Technologists must be certified or obtain certification within one year of employment.

Special Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, with evidence of successful completion of MCH/OR training program (minimum score of 85% on exam).

Physical Demands: Regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and use hands for tasks. You may occasionally lift up to 25 pounds and will need good vision in various capacities. Expect some exposure to fumes or airborne particles in a moderate noise level environment.
