The Co-op Automation Engineer will support Global Manufacturing, Science & Technology (MSAT) at Sanofi to develop and implement automation solutions for laboratory processes. At Sanofi, our Global MSAT organization drives manufacturing innovation, technical excellence, and continuous improvement across our global network to deliver life-changing medicines to patients worldwide. This individual will collaborate with other Automation team members and MSAT project teams to design relevant and robust automation workflows.

Main Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing automated laboratory workflows using integrated laboratory robotic equipment including robotic arms, Hamilton and Tecan liquid handling platforms
• Gain experience programming and operating robotic scheduling software to optimize laboratory workflow execution
• Support maintenance and troubleshooting of Hamilton STAR and Tecan EVO/Fluent automation systems
• Collaborate with scientists to identify automation opportunities for analytical team
• Help develop software applications for data processing and analysis
• Document procedures through technical reports and SOPs
• Participate in team meetings and contribute improvement ideas

About You

Basic Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled and pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or related field at an accredited college or university with the expectation that you will complete your current degree by the Spring of 2027
• Must be enrolled in school the semester following your internship/co-op with Sanofi
• Must be able to relocate to the office location and work 40hrs/week, Monday-Friday, for the full duration of the co-op/internship
• Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S. and not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually require future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience or coursework in automation, robotics, or programming
• Familiarity with Python
• Basic understanding of laboratory processes
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
