SUMMARY:

The Substance Use Disorder Counselor plays a vital role in providing comprehensive addiction assessment, treatment planning, and both individual and group counseling for clients grappling with chemical dependency. Work collaboratively within a clinical team framework, under the supervision of a psychiatrist, to foster client recovery and growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Act as the primary therapist, facilitating Substance Use Disorder treatment through both individual and group counseling.
• Complete progress summaries and all required patient documentation in a timely manner.
• Conduct quality audits of patient records and processes to ensure adherence to standards.
• Perform initial and ongoing assessments to determine clients' diagnoses and suitable levels of care.
• Deliver individualized, family, and group counseling to engage and empower clients throughout their treatment journey.
• Create customized, culturally sensitive treatment plans for each client.
• Collaborate with other healthcare providers and referral sources to enhance understanding of client challenges and strengths.
• Participate in professional development and supervision to continually improve client care.
• Ensure complete and compliant medical record documentation that meets regulatory standards.
• Meet productivity objectives by employing various engagement techniques to reduce missed appointments.
• Work as an integral member of an interdisciplinary team to coordinate and deliver effective patient care.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Completion of a clinical internship in chemical dependency or a minimum of 1 year experience in the field.
• Possession of CASAC, CASAC-P, or CASAC-T is required with the condition of obtaining full certification within 24 months, or an OASAS Qualified Health Professional (LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, LCAT, or LMFT).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This role involves sedentary work, requiring exertion of up to 10 pounds occasionally. Most work will involve sitting, though brief periods of walking or standing may occur.

PAY RANGE:

$61,000.00 - $77,000.00

The disclosed pay range represents a good faith estimate of the potential salary for successful full-time applicants, subject to modification in the future. Pay determinations will consider factors such as experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
