Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Engineer to act as a first responder and support our shop floor operations. This critical role ensures fast and effective responses to production issues while driving continuous improvement and maintaining a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

• Act as the first responder to shop floor calls and provide immediate engineering support.
• Attend Built-in-Quality (BIQ) meetings and follow up on action items.
• Work on Continuous Improvement (CI) cards, including both standard and safety-related initiatives.
• Investigate and resolve quality or safety concerns by identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Order and coordinate tooling as required to address production or safety issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain smooth operations and improve processes.
• Support documentation, reporting, and communication of resolution status to stakeholders.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or related field).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
• Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving skills, and a hands-on approach.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, shop floor environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Entry-level candidates welcome; internship or co-op experience preferred.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Decatur, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.50/hr.
