Stand Up Forklift Operator/Freezer Environment

Forklift Operator

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team. The role involves operating various types of forklifts, including Crown Stand Up Reach and Reach Trucks, within a fast-paced food manufacturing warehouse environment. You will be responsible for handling materials, shipping, loading and unloading trucks, as well as inventory management and cycle counting.

Responsibilities

• Operate stand-up forklifts and reach trucks in a warehouse setting.
• Handle materials efficiently, ensuring the smooth movement of inventory.
• Load and unload trucks accurately and safely.
• Conduct inventory management and cycle counting.
• Work within a freezer environment, moving products swiftly in and out of shelves.
• Use RF scanners for inventory tracking and management.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in operating stand-up forklifts and reach trucks.
• Experience in shipping, receiving, and material handling.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to production needs.
• Capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Familiarity with RF scanners and inventory management.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in a food manufacturing warehouse is beneficial.
• Ability to work in a cold/freezer environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organization skills.

Work Environment

The facility is expansive, with over 400 employees working across two shifts. It features multiple loading docks, and the stock inventory involves processes like sizing, splitting, cutting, frying, and freezing products. Forklift operators will spend most of their day in the freezer but will have a 10-minute break every hour to step away from the cold. Shifts run from 8 am to 5:30 pm.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Franklin Park, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00/hr.
