Healthcare Services Group (HCSG) is currently seeking to fill the position of Staff Accountant – SEC Reporting to join our growing corporate team in Bensalem, PA!

HCSG’s Accounting & Finance department is looking to add a new member to our team in Bensalem, PA. The Staff Accountant - SEC Reporting is a hybrid role that will report directly to the SEC Reporting Manager. You’ll be responsible for assisting in preparing the company’s financial statements as well as monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis for assigned accounts. The ideal candidate is diligent, detail-oriented, and willing to learn!

Position Summary

• Assist with preparing SEC filings including 10-Qs, 10-Ks, and other ad-hoc filings
• Assist with preparing annual proxy statements
• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for assigned areas
• Maintain internal controls for assigned areas and analyze account fluctuations
• Compile audit documentation including audit sample requests and documentation of internal controls performed
• Perform research covering new accounting guidance and other technical accounting matters and prepare memos covering findings
• Hybrid role that requires an in-office presence 3 days a week

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent is required
• 1–3 years of experience in public accounting or relevant industry
• Excellent general accounting skills, with working knowledge of US GAAP standards and SEC guidance, and ability to research and document accounting issues
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Experience with Workiva (Wdesk) for SEC reporting
• Excellent interpersonal skills with strong oral and written communication abilities
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and meet deadlines
• CPA license, or eligibility to become a CPA and desire to pursue the license, is preferred
