Sr. Mechanical Engineer

The Sr. Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing functional, reliable, and cost-effective heavy-duty vehicle components. This role involves performing engineering analysis, designing or redesigning, and developing components for both existing and new vehicles. The engineer will provide integration and execution support for vehicle and component design.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks under supervision according to industry standards and processes.
• Support top engineers in the preparation of plans, designs, and computation methods.
• Manage projects or parts of projects with limited complexity and may handle multiple projects.
• Collaborate with internal engineering disciplines and external suppliers as needed.
• Provide guidance or mentorship to entry-level engineers, designers, or technicians.
• Maintain effective communication with suppliers, customers, and outside resources regarding technical issues.
• Ensure proper use of engineering criteria and drawing standards within company policies and procedures.
• Evaluate designs for performance, safety, and reliability.
• Prepare layouts, drawings, specifications, and bills of material.
• Conduct engineering analysis to select parts, components, and materials that meet requirements.
• Offer technical assistance for production support.
• Analyze and resolve engineering issues through verbal or written communication.
• Prepare technical proposals, quotations, reports, and presentations.
• Create and maintain project documentation for analysis, research, and historical records.
• Utilize analytical and mathematical approaches to optimize designs and calculate or model system performance.

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Systems, or Software Engineering.
• Demonstrated hands-on curiosity and problem-solving approach.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD design tools and modeling.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior exposure to military combat systems.
• Knowledge of video signal design and transmission systems.
• Experience applying root-cause problem-solving methodologies.
• Background in electro-mechanical system integration.
• Hands-on experience with product testing, test labs, or hardware-in-the-loop testing environments.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $130000.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
