This is not a remote position. T-Mobile is a hybrid work environment requiring work in the office three (3) days per week. The successful candidate will be located in Seattle, WA or New York NY areas.

Job Overview

As a Senior Data Scientist working with the Product Innovation Team, you are responsible for leading the development of innovative solutions that transform data into high-impact, customer-facing products. In this strategic and technical role, you will work cross-functionally with other data scientists, product managers, engineers, data stewards, and commercial stakeholders to design and deliver scalable machine learning systems that unlock new revenue opportunities and power the next generation of data-driven offerings.

You must demonstrate expertise across the entire machine learning (ML) lifecycle, including problem framing, data collection, exploratory data analysis, model development, deployment, and performance measurement. Paramount to this job is the understanding that a Senior Data Scientist represents technical expertise and leadership within the Data Science team in creating real business value from data.

Job Responsibilities

• Extract, prepare and model large, complex data sets using a combination of skills, including machine learning theory, mathematics, statistics, and programming.
• Deliver on-time quality analysis, interpretation, and synthesis of data into effective, concise, and actionable recommendations that enable intelligent decisioning for the company.
• Provide senior-level guidance and mentorship to the data science team, including reviewing projects, models, and code for peers and junior team members.
• Work with engineering teams to implement and improve machine learning pipelines and production-ready models.
• Effectively communicate important information and insights to business leaders using verbal, written, and data visualization skills.

Education and Work Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in a Quantitative Discipline (math, statistics, economics, computer science, physics, engineering, etc.) (Required)
• Master's/Advanced Degree in a Quantitative Discipline (math, statistics, economics, computer science, physics, engineering) (Preferred)
• 4-7 years of industry experience in predictive modeling, data science, and analysis in an ML engineer or data scientist role building and deploying ML models or hands-on experience developing deep learning models (Required)
• 4-7 years of experience with data scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R) (Required)
• 2-4 years of experience with big data architecture and pipeline, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Kafka, etc. (Required)
• 4-7 years of experience articulating and translating business questions and using statistical techniques to arrive at an answer using available data (Required)
• 4-7 years of experience in data visualization (Required)
• 4-7 years of experience working with relational databases using SQL (Required)
• 2-4 years of experience in the telecom industry (Preferred)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Mathematics: Calculus, linear algebra, statistics, and probability (Required)
• Programming: Python and SQL (Required)
• Machine Learning: Expertise applying machine learning concepts and techniques related to supervised and unsupervised learning (Required)
• Communication: Strong communication skills, ability to work with cross-functional teams

Base Pay Range: $106,000 - $191,100

Corporate Bonus Target: 15%

Most corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
