As a Senior Accountant, you'll be responsible for the statutory accounting, financial reporting, and audit management for assigned firms within the EMEA and LATAM regions. You will serve as a trusted advisor on accounting procedures and compliance. You'll tackle challenging reconciliations, prepare journal entries, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Success in this role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills and eye for detail.

Black & Veatch's Business Enablement consists of critical groups that help enable the organizations people, projects, and businesses to be as successful as possible. Functions in this group include Digital & Information Technology, Global Finance, Global Human Resources, Legal, Risk Management, and Government Affairs and Real Estate and Building Services.

Key responsibilities include:

• Prepares monthly/annual moderately-complex financial statements.
• Prepares complex audit deliverables for review. Manages individual audits and interacts with external auditors.
• Reconciles complex accounts and/or assists others with identifying and researching. reconciling items. Identifies alternative solutions to prevent continued issues.
• Prepares, enters and posts complex journal entries. May review journal entries.
• Provides guidance to team on cost coding questions.
• Ensures compliance with government regulations.
• Support continuous improvement efforts and change management.
• Must be a problem solver with a proven ability to research, analyze, and ensure the accuracy of highly detailed work.
• Must be able to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously, set priorities, and adhere to deadlines in an organized manner.

Internal clients include Legal, Accounting Operations, Payroll, Treasury, Tax and Financial Applications; regular interactions with the businesses and upper management.

Preferred qualifications include:

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or MS in Accounting a plus
• Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Basic Microsoft Access
• Knowledge of Black and Veatch Systems
• Knowledge of percent complete accounting
• Technical accounting knowledge
• Knowledge of Financial Statement analysis
• Knowledge of foreign currency terminology and concepts

Minimum qualifications include:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience
• Typically 4+ years related experience

Work environment/physical demands include:
