Special Education Teacher (K12)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team in delivering high-quality educational services to students with special needs from kindergarten through grade 12. This role requires a collaborative spirit and a commitment to individualized instruction, tutorial support, and consultation with general education staff to ensure inclusive and effective learning environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs
• Provide direct instruction and support to students with diverse learning challenges
• Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to support student success
• Maintain accurate records and comply with all reporting requirements
• Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract, or district regulations
• Minimum of one year experience in a teaching environment (preferred)
• State Teacher Certification (preferred types):
• Standard Elementary Teaching
• Standard Secondary Teaching
• Standard Special Teaching
• Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) (preferred)
• Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice
• Current CPR certification (if applicable)
• TB questionnaire, PPD test, or chest x-ray (if applicable)
• Current health certificate (as required by contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
