Special Education Teacher

Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking a Special Education Teacher to support a 6th8th grade self-contained classroom in Avondale, AZ for the 20252026 school year. This full-time, in-person role begins September 29, 2025, and runs through May 2026, offering $50$55/hour for local candidates or $2,300/week for travel.

Position Overview:

• Location: Avondale, AZ
• Start Date: September 29, 2025
• End Date: May 2026
• Schedule: MondayFriday
• Hours: 7:00 AM 3:00 PM (40 hours/week)
• Modality: In-person
• Interview: Virtual or in-person (preferred)

Classroom Details:

• Grade Level: 6th8th
• Caseload: 10 students
• Classroom Support: Paraprofessionals
• Setting: Self-contained special education

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and support for middle school students
• Collaborate with general education staff and participate in student program planning
• Deliver tutorial assistance and consult with support staff
• Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines

Minimum Requirements:

• Valid Arizona teaching certificate (ALT and Sub certs not accepted)
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university (preferred)
• State Teacher Certification: Standard Elementary, Secondary, or Special Teaching (preferred)
• Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
• Minimum one year of teaching experience (preferred)
• CPR certification, TB clearance, and health certificate as applicable
• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
