Site Reliability Engineer

What does a successful Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) do?

At Fiserv, a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) ensures the reliability, availability, and performance of our critical business applications. The SRE works closely with development, infrastructure, and support teams to build scalable systems, automate operational tasks, and respond to incidents with a focus on continuous improvement, embodying our mission to align with the way people live and work today.

What you will do:

  Design and implement solutions to improve the reliability and performance of enterprise applications.

• n

  Develop and maintain monitoring, alerting, and telemetry systems to ensure proactive incident detection and resolution.

• n

  Lead and participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and post-mortem reviews.

  n
n
• n

  Automate repetitive tasks and processes using scripting and configuration management tools.

  n
n
• n

  Analyze system performance and usage trends to forecast and plan for future growth.

  n
n
• n

  Partner with development and infrastructure teams to ensure applications are designed with reliability and operability in mind.

• n

  Support safe and efficient deployment of application changes through CI/CD pipelines and change control processes.

  n
n
• n

  Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of systems, processes, and procedures.

n

What you will need to have:

n
• n

  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and/or equivalent military experience.

  n
n
• n

  6+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or IT Operations roles.

  n
n
• n

  6+ years of experience with monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, ExtraHop, Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.

  n
n
• n

  6+ years of experience in scripting languages such as Ansible, Bash, or PowerShell.

  n
n
• n

  6+ years of experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).

  n
n
• n

What would be great to have:

  6+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, Ansible, Harness, or Git.

  Knowledge of application performance management (APM) tools.

  Familiarity with database operations and performance tuning.

  n
n
• n

  Certifications in cloud platforms or SRE/DevOps practices.

n
• n

  6+ years of experience with Premier applications, IBM iSeries, and/or Unisys.

n

  This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and lead to stronger productivity.
