Primary Responsibilities

• Research and innovate new algorithms for remote sensing applications
• Prototype and evaluate algorithms using high-level languages such as Matlab or Python
• Develop efficient software implementations in C programming language
• Conduct thorough testing and performance analysis of algorithms
• Document findings and present them to customers and stakeholders

Basic Qualifications

• BS degree in physics, engineering, math, or a related field with 4+ years of relevant experience; or a Master's with 2+ years of experience; or a Doctoral degree with less than 2 years of experience
• 5+ years of experience with a combination of coursework and hands-on experience in the following areas:
• Proficiency in at least one high-level programming language, such as Matlab or Python
• Signal processing fundamentals, including Fourier transforms, filtering, and estimation
• Strong understanding of physics and a willingness to learn new concepts
• Experience working in Linux cluster computing environments
• Solid grounding in probability, statistics, linear algebra, and complex variables
• Familiarity with C coding and a commitment to software engineering best practices or a strong desire to learn
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance
• This position requires on-site full-time work in San Diego, CA

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience or proficiency in at least one sensing modality
• Familiarity with Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS), Optics, or Radar
• Proficiency in C coding and commitment to software engineering best practices
• Deep understanding of optimal detection and estimation techniques
• Expertise in array processing and beamforming concepts and implementation
• Experience in designing algorithms and hardware for optimal efficiency
• Experience with real-time processing involving edge and cloud components
• Experience integrating Machine Learning techniques with signal processing
• Systems engineering experience
• An interest in embedded programming
