Senior Software Engineer, Product Platform Tools – Cloudflare

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Product Platform Tools team. The role focuses on building and maintaining the main internal administrative tool, configuring customer setups, and enabling cross-functional teams with robust internal tooling. Available locations include Austin, Lisbon, and London.

Responsibilities

• Use tools, frameworks, and libraries to build a robust administrative platform.
• We’re currently using JavaScript and Python; bonus points if you have worked with PHP for legacy portions of the platform.
• Review work from peers throughout all stages of the development lifecycle.
• Support fellow team members through constructive code reviews and pair programming to help bring out their best work.

Qualifications and Experience

• More than 5 years of experience building and managing high-volume web applications; React, TypeScript, and Python are expected.
• PHP is a plus.
• Experience building, deploying, and operating services.
• Bias for action: you are a builder and a creator who delivers results.
• Understanding of core web performance and server-side applications.
• Deep knowledge of feature flagging and incremental feature delivery.
• Experience contributing to build systems for large JavaScript and/or PHP projects.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; curiosity and empathy are valued.
• Deep understanding of the web, including web browsers, HTTP, JavaScript, and the DOM.
• Bonus: contributed to open-source JavaScript tools and frameworks, knowledge of A/B testing, and public presentations.
